I have a house without a real attic, just a 3:12 pitched roof over the ceiling joists. In other words, nothing to walk on above the ceiling but the bare joists and sheetrock. I want to put in some more insulation batts above the ceiling.
Is it practical and safe to do this myself if I'm 6'+ and 250+ pounds and am not exactly what you would call limber? I was thinking if I get a piece of half-inch plywood to put over the joists and lie on it as I crawl/slide around, I wouldn't fall through the ceiling. Is that true?
